PAUL MCCARTNEY CLOSES OUT A 'LATE SHOW' ERA WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM STEPHEN’S FRIENDS |
Stephen Colbert said goodbye to The Late Show after more than 10 years and 1,800 episodes. CBS announced the show's cancellation last July, setting up a long runup to Thursday night's finale.
The comedian kicked off his final episode on Thursday with an earnest piece to camera before Paul McCartney joined as his final guest. Bryan Cranston, Ryan Reynolds, Paul Rudd, Tim Meadows and Tig Notaro also appeared on the show.
"I want you to know this show has been a joy for us to do for you,” Colbert said. “In fact, we call this show The Joy Machine. We call it The Joy Machine because to do this many shows it has to be a machine, but the thing is, if you choose to do it with joy, it doesn’t hurt as much when your fingers get caught in the gears." >>>No-Show Pope
