The GDP fell for a second straight quarter, signaling a recession may be underway. Though the White House is resisting the "R" word, CNN points out it doesn't really matter what you call our current inflationary period. To consumers, it feels like a recession. On the bright side, the cagey Sen. Joe Manchin finally found a Democratic spending bill he can support. Repackaged as the "Inflation Reduction Act of 2022," the $370-billion bill includes funding for energy, climate change and health care.
